West Ham must stop signing players from Arsenal!

Dear God, if reports are right on the net, we have been paying 40k per week for Marouane Chamakh to do next to nothing for the last 5 months. What a monumental waste of dosh! And it's not as if the guy is an isolated case. Arsenal FC stitch us up almost every time we go shopping in North London! The most famous example is, of course, Ljungberg who cost us close on ten million in transfer fees, wages and a buy out of his contract, in return for which he played 28 games and scored two goals. Three of those appearances were as a sub and he was withdrawn in no fewer than 11 of his 25 starts. Step forward for a picture Freddie, and say "Cheese"!Then there was John Radford. He didn't cost a lot, it is true, but as a centre forward, he scored precisely no goals in 30 appearances for the club, making Carlton Cole look prolific! And talking ...

England striker set to end his career in the MLS

Forward was not offered a new deal by the Hammers.
West Ham United front man Carlton Cole looks like finishing his playing career in the Major League Soccer, says the Daily Mirror.
The giant former England international has just been released by the Hammers after seven years at Upton Park, during which time Cole managed to find the back of the net on 48 occasions in 210 Premier League outings for the East End club.
Meanwhile overall, the 29-year-old also registered 59 goals in 237 contests in all competitions, however, that was still not enough to convince West Ham head coach Sam Allardyce to offer Cole a new deal to stay with the club next season.
And as a result, a whole host of other suitors have since made their interest in the attacker known, including Premier League clubs Hull City, Southampton and Stoke City,...

Kevin Nolan thinks the club should be more ambitious in 2013/14.

West Ham United captain Kevin Nolan believes that the club should sign a number of big names this summer and then compete for European football next season.
Despite only returning to the top flight in 2012 via the Championship play-offs, the Hammers enjoyed a solid campaign back in the Premier League and secured a top 10 finish.
Under manager Sam Allardyce the team have looked at home in the top tier of English football and the boss has wasted no time in improving his squad for 2013/14.
West Ham signed Romania national captain Razvan Rat on a free transfer on Tuesday, whilst they have also had a £15million bid for Andy Carroll accepted by Liverpool.
Allardyce himself pledged his future to the club by signing a new two-year-deal at Upton Park and Nolan ...

The Joy of Six: Football League play-off finals | Barry Glendenning

From Aldershot's win over Wolves to Mickey Gray's hideously bad penalty, via Paul Dickov's late heroics against Gillingham1) Aldershot beat Wolves (1987 Division Four play-off final)If Wolves fans think their recent relegation to League One was a crushing disappointment, they can at least console themselves with the knowledge that their team has endured worse agonies. Having dropped down to English football's fourth tier on the back of three successive relegations, the West Midlands club had survived a winding-up order 10 months previously and were attempting to begin the gradual ascent back towards former glories. They were doing so via a new wheeze called the play-offs, which had been adopted to increase competition and maintain fan interest by giving more clubs a chance of winning promotion towards the end of the season.
