Three years after Birmingham City last attempted to sign him, Lee Bowyer has agreed to join Blues on loan until the end of the season. In the summer of 2005 Birmingham fans successfully protested against the midfielder's signing because of his controversial past. In 2009, that past appears to have been forgiven and forgotten."Lee's a dynamic player and I want to bring a dynamic look back to the team," said Birmingham manager Alex McLeish. "Roy Aitken, one of my assistants, has worked with him at Leeds and knows him as an attacking midfielder but he also knows that Lee can give a lot to the team as well."Bowyer's signing will be McLeish's fifth of the transfer window after the arrival of Keith Fahey, Robin Shroot, Scott Sinclair and Hameur Bouazza. Birmingham's proposed move for Rangers striker Kris Boyd appears to have stalled over the player's personal terms.Transfer windowBirmingham CityWest Ham Unitedguardian.co.uk © Guardian News & Media Limited 2009 | Use of this content is subject to our Terms & Conditions | More Feeds
